The Pub
Ye Olde Royal Oak is a traditional two-bar valleys pub: preserved etched glass, real ales kept properly, and a welcome for children and dogs alike. Twelve years of looking after regulars taught us what a local should feel like.
Then we did something no other pub in Ystrad Mynach has: we put an authentic Thai kitchen behind the bar, alongside the pub grub people already loved. One roof, two kitchens, and a reason to keep coming back.
Two Kitchens
Homemade pub classics done properly: grills, hand-pressed burgers, Sunday roasts and hot afternoon teas. Fresh produce from local suppliers, the way pub food should be.
The real thing, cooked by a Thai chef: fragrant curries, stir-fries and fresh, punchy flavours. The dish the valley keeps talking about is the Thai green curry.
